Marlins' XXXXXXX pleads not guilty

Marlins left-hander Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxxx has entered a not guilty plea to the charge of driving under the influence, according to the case summary.

Xxxxx was arrested Dec. 22 in Miami Beach.

Defending Xxxxx is Walter Reynoso, his wife's uncle, and Miami-based Robert Reiff, regarded as one of the nation's best DUI attorneys.

Xxxxx, who turns 25 Friday, and the Marlins are closing in on a one-year contract to avoid arbitration. If agreement is not reached before then, the two sides would exchange salary figures next Thursday.
